Mission

Our mission is to promote stronger communities by creating a support network for current middle and high school students, high school alums, and their communities.

Vision: A Fellowship across Time and Space

The Empowering Education Fellowship seeks high achieving sophomores, juniors and seniors in public high schools interested in making a difference in their community through promoting equity in education. The Fellowship involves two-directional mentoring where Fellows are mentored by alumni from their high school or college students in their community, while simultaneously mentoring ESL students their community's middle school.

  • Given the fellowship’s mission and structure, high school students who are newcomers/first-generation, cannot afford private college counseling, and/or whose parents did not graduate from an American college/university would likely benefit the most from what the Fellowship offers.

A Network of Support

By creating strong connections between High School Fellow, alumni and Middle School mentees, this fellowship aspires to create a long-lasting network of support within communities. To further support community development, Fellows have access to a fund which they can use to create positive change in their community within a field they are passionate about.
