Reflections on My Journey: A New Year in the Fellowship Program; Trinity Moore's Blog -- Intergenerational Fellowship Program

7/30/2025

Hi! My name is Trinity Moore, and this is my first blog for my second year in the International Fellowship Program. My friend and I were the first people to join this program last year when we were both Sophomores attending Hillside High School in Durham, NC. I was excited to hear from Mr.Carlins that this program was a success and was going to continue into this year.

Learning and Growth: Lessons from the Fellowship Program; Nevae's Blog -- Intergenerational Fellowship Program

7/30/2025

Over the six weeks of being in the intergenerational fellowship, I've learned a lot. Not just about others, but myself. All of the people who had participated in this fellowship with me taught me that I'm a constant problem solver, continuously thinking outside the box, and accepting failure, allowing that failure to teach me and move on.

Excitement and Motivation: Embracing the Role of a "Big Sister"; Lucero Duran Martinez's Blog -- Intergenerational Fellowship Program

7/30/2025

Since the start of the program, I have felt very excited. Something that motivated me was that I was going to be able to talk to different kids, people, and meet new people. It was very exciting because I was going to be a "big sister" for some students and just be there to support them when they just needed an adult to talk to.

A Journey of Connection and Growth at Durham Center for Senior Life; Jackson's Blog -- Intergenerational Fellowship Program

7/29/2025

Program at Durham Center for Senior Life was the best thing that ever happened to me, even though I was always late I would make those 20 minutes to get to know everyone and it was awesome learning about what they were doing and what they do, and I honestly loved the way they helped me get through social anxiety

Reflection on My Fellowship Experience; Evan's Blog -- Intergenerational Fellowship Program

7/29/2025

Over the past six weeks, this fellowship has been an interesting experience. Most of it was just talking to people, but through those conversations, I learned a lot about different perspectives, how people think, and even a bit about myself. It wasn’t what I expected, but I still walked away with some important takeaways.

Navigating the Path to Professional Theater: Lessons in Focus, Patience, and Networking; Adam's Blog -- Intergenerational Fellowship Program

7/29/2025

Hi, my name is Adam Douglas. Throughout this whole process, I can definitely say for certain that I have learned more and I have grown more as an individual. My senior mentor was Lucy; she taught me a lot, but one thing that I really learned from her was that she told me to stay on track.

More Than a Course: How Volunteering Shaped Me; Daniel’s Blog

7/6/2025

A lot of time has passed since I first shared my experience in the volunteer program, and I continue to be amazed at how much I’ve learned and grown. What started as a course on communication has evolved into something much bigger—a journey of self-discovery, responsibility, and a deeper connection with others

Leadership in Every Language - Mariia Vainshtein's  Blog #2

7/6/2025

After being in the program for about half a year, I have learned what it means to be a mentor and a leader. The amount of material covered during tutoring sessions with K-8 ESL students is enormous. As they say, it makes it easier for them and their parents to do their homework with me and other tutors.
