Guidify America
Seeing how my mom is struggling to keep up with all the immigration documents, I realized that there are so many people having the same problem, and I need to help them.
– Mariia Vainshtein (Lead of Guidfy America Project)
Why Gudify America exists?Guidify America is a passion project led by four immigrant high schoolers designed to help users navigate the US immigration application process. The contents of the platforms cover a range of topics, from understanding federal documents to step-by-step daily life guidance on managing banking, travel, and insurance.

What does Guidify America do?Guidify America is more than a website. Multiple platforms are available to meet users’ unique backgrounds and needs where they are.
Each resource on Guidify America has been carefully tested and shaped by the real experiences of the students who built it. Their firsthand knowledge powers three platforms and ensures that all content is intuitive, reliable, and genuinely helpful. |
My team and I were hoping to make people’s lives easier by providing them with basic information and guidance on where to find documents that they need, how to fill out applications, and how to navigate through their new atmosphere.

Cards for Mental Health
What inspired me is that during my childhood years, due to COVID, I struggled with isolation and loss of connection to others. I had started a project to create cards for kids with cancer. That feeling of accomplishment and connection to others gave me a sense of pride and joy in helping others.
-- Aleena Zeejah (Lead of Cards for Mental Health, Oceanside High School Fellow)
Why Cards for Mental Health exists?Aleena knows what it’s like to feel isolated and unseen. Growing up in a culture where emotional struggles were rarely discussed, she turned to writing as a lifeline: a personal support system. One day, she realized the simple act of sharing her words on a handmade card opened the door to empathy, connection, and hope. As Cards for Mental Health gained momentum and requests grew, Aleena set out to expand its reach, bringing the project to more people through multiple channels and platforms.
|
What does Cards for Mental Health do?Through Cards for Mental Health, Aleena leads a growing network of volunteers who handcraft cards filled with encouraging words and uplifting designs for patients facing mental health challenges. Each card is handmade and personally delivered to hospitals and care centers, often sparking moments of joy, connection, and relief. The goal of the project is to use small, heartfelt gestures to break the silence and address the problems of stigmatization in the mental health world.

I hope others will learn that authenticity is more important than anything in the world. Anyone can create and help others, but it must come from your unique perspective and who you are as a person. I hope others are inspired by Cards for Mental Health and encourage themselves and others to do the same.
